  1. The following service code 510 must be performed  when a Spindle Motor is replaced for any reason. Failure to do so will cause the Tool changer to orient incorrectly and crash. Lower the head down  to the maximum travel. Press the E-STOP!
    • The following service code 510 must be performed when a Spindle Motor is replaced for any reason. Failure to do so will cause the Tool changer to orient incorrectly and crash.

    • Lower the head down to the maximum travel.

    • Press the E-STOP!

    • Remove the front sheet metal covers.

    • Remove the spindle drive belt by loosening the 4 bolts that hold the motor adjusting plate to the spindle head.

    • Release the jam nut from the two belt tensioning screws. Loosen the belt tensioning screws completely and pull the motor toward the front of the TMC.

    • Remove the belt from the spindle motor. Remove the 4 bolts that secure the motor down into place.

  2. DO NOT AT ANY TIME ATTEMPT TO LIFT MOTOR BY HAND AS IT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 200lbs.
    • DO NOT AT ANY TIME ATTEMPT TO LIFT MOTOR BY HAND AS IT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 200lbs.

    • Remove the spindle encoder cable. Take note of the wiring then unwire the encoder cable.

    • Remove the spindle motor power cable.

    • Remove the spindle temperature cable.

    • Use the proper lifting equipment, lift motor up and remove from the machine.

    • Place the replacement motor in place and perform these steps in reverse order.

    • Tension the belt until you have approximately 1/4" of deflection at the midpoint of the belt.

    • Make sure to reset the orientation angle for the spindle using service code 510. Refer to, "TMC-Inspection" for detailed guides on service code 510.
