  1. 29032-38 is shown in the picture.  All door switches are tested the same way. Review the terminal numbers of the door switch on the Door Switch Drawing.

  2. Review the schematic of the door switch which is located on the cover of the switch.
    • Review the schematic of the door switch which is located on the cover of the switch.

    • Note that the terminals inside of the door switch are 2 NO contact pairs. Terminals 13 and 14 are one NO contact pair and terminals 23 and 24 are a different NO contact pair.

    • NO stands for "Normally Open" and means that the contact pair will not have continuity (Open) if the plunger is not depressed and that it will have continuity (Closed) if the plunger is depressed.

  3. Review the pinout of the connector paying careful attention to the pinout relative to the locking tab of the connector. Note connector pinout.  Test leads are inserted in "pin 1" and "pin 3" of the door switch connector. Set the voltmeter in continuity mode as shown.  Note that the voltmeter reads "OL" which means no continuity.

    • Set the voltmeter in continuity mode as shown. Note that the voltmeter reads "OL" which means no continuity.

    • Depress the door switch plunger. Voltmeter now reads .000 which means that there is continuity as expected.

    • Move test leads to pins 2 and 4, depress the plunger, and verify continuity.
