This section explains the five types of archives and what each contains. You can create an archive using any combination of these components:

NCK (Numeric Control Kernel) Controls the CNC system, servo loops, program execution, and G-code pathing. Saves: machine data, settings, options, user data, tools, magazine data, protection zones, R parameters, offsets, workpieces, programs, cycles, macros, collision avoidance, compile cycles.

PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Handles machine logic, safety systems, and commands passed from the NCK. Saves: PLC user program.

Drives Controls the motors and executes movement commands. Saves: Sinamics servo data.

HMI (Human Machine Interface) The touchscreen interface, including display layouts and user-facing tools. Saves: cycle storage, texts, templates, apps, configs, version data, logs, user views, dictionaries.

System Settings Stores general system and network configurations. Saves: drive configs, Thin Client Unit (TCU) settings, IP/network setup, mmc.ini (screen data).

Only users with Service or Manufacturer access can create or restore backups.

Navigate to [Setup] → [2nd Page] → [Setup Archive]

By default, all components will be highlighted for backup.

Press [OK] to confirm, or [Cancel] to exit.

Refer to the inset photo for the recommended file naming convention.

You can choose specific components or archive all by default.

The system’s default storage path is [Archives/Manufacturer].

To change the storage location, use the pop-up window to navigate directories or select an external USB (plugged into the right edge of the pendant).

Once ready, press [OK] to finalize and save the archive to the selected directory.

After selecting the file, press [OK] to confirm or [Cancel] to exit.

The controller will notify you that the mill will stop and restart after completing the archive operation. Press [Yes] to proceed.

The archive operation will begin, shown by a line of dots scrolling across the lower right corner of the touchscreen.

This process may take several minutes.

A bar graph will appear to show the archive progress.

All green lights on the lower keyboard will flash simultaneously during the operation.

Once the archive is complete, the system will display a confirmation message.
